New Chemistry Research and Development
We have state-of-the-art research and development facilities and a highly qualified staff of investigative chemists and chemical engineers. We are involved in the development of a wide variety of chemical reaction technologies and take these from bench-top assessments through to process evaluations. Promising candidates are further investigated using our Mini-Plant techniques to simulate commercial scale processing. This blend of expertise and facilities gives us a major advantage to cost effectively translate chemical concepts to industrial scale operating plants.
We ensure that in-house research and collaborative developments are given appropriate intellectual property protection and then proceed to commercialise our research results. We work with academic researchers as well as industrial partners and we are always willing to discuss new research topics that may lead to further advances in process technology. On-going areas of our current research activities include the following topics:
- Olefin metathesis using functional substrates
- Carbonylation of aldehydes
- Ligand libraries for homogeneous catalysis
- Polymerisation catalysts for Fischer Tropsch liquids
- Membrane assisted oxidative conversion of alkanes
- Novel alkane dehydrogenation catalysts
- Oxidation of linear substituted alkyl aromatics.
If you are working on these topics or similar areas of investigation and you are interested in collaboration then we would like to make contact with you. We have a very flexible approach to collaborative work and hope that our preliminary discussions will lead on to mutually beneficial results.
