New Process Technology Development
Expansion of our process portfolio is a key element of our business strategy, and this is accomplished by a combination of in-house developments, acquisition and collaborative programmes. In working closely with catalyst developers and manufacturers, we ensure that we remain at the forefront of process developments and are in a position to address the demands of changing economic, feedstock, environmental, product application and quality issues of the chemical industry. The development of novel and improved process technologies continues to be a major focus. Our track record demonstrates a talent for recognising chemical route concepts that are capable of being commercialised - and an ability to make that happen. We have achieved demonstrable success on a number of processes incorporating hydrogenation, esterification and dehydrogenation reactions as well as complex separation systems.
Our current development programmes include:
- 1,3 Propanediol from ethylene oxide
- Sugars and glycerol hydrogenolysis
- 1,5 pentanediol from dimethyl glutarate
- Formic acid/methyl formate
- Dialkoxymethanes (methylal)
- Diphenyl carbonate
- N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP)
- Polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) monomers
- Other programmes are confidential pending patent filing.
A key element of our business strategy is collaboration and many of our successful projects have been the result of joint development with major process operating corporations. We are always willing to consider working with other researchers in collaborative development projects. Please use the link on the right to contact us with your ideas and proposals.
